Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (Ethiopia/Eritrea)

A part of the RPCV Legacy Program, which began in 2004, the project “Vocational Training for Children at Risk” enables destitute and sexually exploited children in Addis Ababa to achieve economic self-sufficiency by providing them with vocational training in employable skills and assisting them to establish themselves in their chosen professions.

Embassy of Ireland

The Irish Aid Programme in Ethiopia began in 1994. It is administered by the Embassy of Ireland in Addis Ababa, staffed by the Chargé d’Affaires, a Third Secretary, three Irish Development Specialists and nine Sectoral Advisors.  The Desk Officer in Irish Aid in Dublin assists in the formulation of strategy and the preparation of project proposals. The Progrmme focuses on Education, Food Security, Governance, Health, HIV/AIDS, Infrastructure & Roads, Water & Sanitation.

The World Health Organization is the United Nations specialized agency for health. It was established on 7 April 1948. WHO's objective, as set out in its Constitution, is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. Health is defined in WHO's Constitution as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
